Wacom Bamboo Gimp Inkscape Fix

Ah...kirnyaaaa aku punya juga drawing tablet, nice man! Emang hobby gambar udah dari kecil, namun akhir-2 ini sangat sibuk dgn kerjaan sampai-2 jarang pegang pencil (hehe begaya digital mbok!) Pikir-2 pengen punya jadi keturutan! Drawing Tablet Wacom Bamboo Fun harga 1,6 jute nice nice...! Langsung aja coba dgn bonus softwarenya corel draw and photoshop element basic basic basic semua jadi kesel! Sudah puas ternya fitur softwarenya kurang meriah, langsung aja kepikir GIMP and INKSCAPE yang kerasa indonya gitu lo (alias GRATES!!). Abis idupin GIMP ee bambooku langsung ngaco, sering nyendat-2 kaya kambing beol, coba inkscape eee samimawon!! muncrat deh!
Searching-2 kaya orang kebelet ga nemu-2 solusi terpaksa dikulkasin tabletnya sambil nunggu gimp bisa di pake. Sekian tahun lamanya menunggu (ciee...baru 2 bulan lage pret!) akhirnya ada juga pahlawan bernama Thomas Bleeker yang dengan gagahnya meng-hex .lib gimp dan inkscape, bentar ya ogut copy in caranya:

Details for the attachment I just added:

I have the same problem but managed to patch the program so that it works
correctly again, at least for me (I haven't tested it yet on other computers).

OS: Vista 32-bit + SP1, English
Tablet: Wacom Grapphire 4, latest drivers installed

My problem was with Inkscape but I tested GIMP and it has the same problem,
like veryone describes here, the cursor freezes on certain proximity events.

I looked around in the relevant source file (gdkinput-win32.c) and after some
testing I found out the packet rate setting causes the problem:

(lc is the LOGCONTEXT structure)
lc.lcPktRate = 50;

However, the Wacom Windows Developer FAQ
(http://www.wacomeng.com/devsupport/ibmpc/wacomwindevfaq.html) states:

"The lcPcktRate field is not functional in the non-Wacom Wintab which shipped
with older Wacom tablets. The Wacom Wintab currently doesn't support lcPktRate
either. In both Wintabs, lcPktRate is reported as 100, but the tablet will
actually be sending data at the highest rate possible for whatever mode in
which the tablet is set."

I tried setting this value to just zero and all problems disappeared. Both
Inkscape and GIMP work as expected, including pressure and tool switching.

Since I didn't feel like compiling all the necessary libraries again I just
binary patched the GDK DLL for Inkscape and GIMP, but I have attached a source
code patch for GTK that should produce the same result.

I hope this fix will work on other systems as well, if you want to quickly
check if this fix works for Inkscape or GIMP then you can apply the binary
patch. For this you need these specific versions (which are the latest at the
moment of writing)

Inkscape: 0.46
GIMP: 2.4.5 i686

You will also need a hex editor, I use HxD (http://mh-nexus.de/hxd/),
description below is for that tool.

Install as usual, then run HxD (be sure to run it as administrator if you use
Vista with UAC and installed in program files!!). For inkscape, in HxD open
libgdk-win32-2.0-0.dll (this file should be 639270 bytes). When patching GIMP,
open the same file from the bin directory inside the GIMP directory, this
version of the DLL should be 617992 bytes.

Menu search, goto (or press alt+g).
Offset: 39030 for Inkscape, 39180 for GIMP
Select 'hex', relative to 'begin' and press OK.

Your cursor should now be at the hexadecimal offset you've entered, you should
see this sequence of bytes:

32 00 00 00 8B 4D 88 89 85 E4 FD FF FF B8 E1 15

Type 00 to overwrite the 32 at the start with 00. It will become red. Save the
file, close HxD and try the program again.

How to create CD install xp sp3

Step 1: Copy the Windows XP Setup CD contents to your hard drive

Open your My Computer (in Vista, Computer) window and navigate to Tools then Folder Options. In the Folder Options dialog, navigate to the View tab and select the option titled "Show hidden files and folders." Then, uncheck the option titled "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)." (Dispense with the Warning dialog that appears.) Click OK to close the Folder Options dialog.

Insert your Windows XP with SP2 Setup CD in the optical drive of your PC and close any auto-run window that appears. In My Computer (or Computer), right-click the optical drive and select Open. Leave the window open with a view of the contents of the Windows XP Setup CD.

Open My Computer again. This time, navigate to the root of the C: drive or another location to which you'd like to save the files you'll eventually integrate with SP3. Create a folder named xp (as in C:\xp). Then, create a second folder named sp3 (as in C:\sp3).

Now, drag and drop the contents of the XP Setup CD into the C:\xp folder.

Step 2: Extract the contents of the XP SP3 updater to your hard drive

Now, you need to extract the SP3 files. While the files are copying between the two locations, copy the Windows XP SP3 standalone installer (typically windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe in the US) to C:\sp3. Then, open a command line window (Start, Run, cmd in Windows XP; in Vista, just open the Start Menu and type cmd in Start Menu Search).

Then, using the following commands exactly, navigate to C:\sp3 and extract the files (Note that the text [ENTER] means hit the ENTER key):

cd \ [ENTER] cd sp3 [ENTER] windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe -x:c:\sp3 [ENTER]

An Extracting Files dialog will come up and display the progress.

When the extraction is done, the following dialog will appear. Press OK to continue.

Inside C:\sp3, you'll see a new folder called i386 that contains the extracted files.

Step 3: Integrate XP with SP3

Now, type the following in the command line window (where [ENTER] means hit the ENTER key):

cd i386 [ENTER] cd update [ENTER] update.exe /integrate:c:\xp [ENTER]

Warning: If you are trying to slipstream a volume license version of Windows XP Professional from Windows Vista, the preceding steps need to run as an administrator. To do so, right-click on the desktop and choose New then Shortcut. In the Create Shortcut dialog, paste in the following bolded text: C:\sp3\i386\update\update.exe -s:c:\xp\. Then, click Next, give the Shortcut a name, and click Finish. Run the shortcut by right-clicking it and choosing Run as administrator. Then proceed normally. (Thanks to John Straffin for the tip.)

The Software Installation Wizard will appear and integrate the SP3 files into the XP with SP2 install files.

When the integration is complete, you'll see the following dialog. Click OK to continue.

Close the command line window. (Type exit and then tap Enter.)

Step 4: Extract the XP Setup CD's boot image file

Before you can burn the integrated files to CD, you will have to extract a hidden file found on your XP Setup CD; this file is used to help make your new CD bootable. To do so, you need to use a disc image extractor such as ISOBuster.

With the XP with SP2 Setup CD still in the optical drive, run ISO Buster and choose "Free func. only" from the Registration dialog. You should see something like this:

In the left-side tree view, select Bootable Disc. When you do so, the right side will change and display just a few files. One will be named Microsoft Corporation.img (Figure) (or similar; it will be named something.img): This is the file you need to extract. To do so, right-click and choose Extract Microsoft Corporation.img (Figure). When ISOBuster prompts you, choose to download it to the C:\sp3 folder.

Close ISO Buster.

Step 5: Make a bootable XP SP3 CD

Now it's time to make the bootable XP with SP3 Setup CD. Start Nero Burning ROM and click OK in the Welcome dialog that explains you're using a Trial Version. Burning ROM will start with a New Compilation window open. Select CD-ROM (Boot) from the left side.

Then, in the source section, make sure Image file is selected and then click the Browse button. Navigate to C:\sp3 and then drop down the list box that's currently set to Boot-Image-Files (*IMA) and choose All Files (*.*). The select Microsoft Corporation.img and click OK.

Then, in the Advanced section of the New Compilation window, make sure Enable expert settings (for advanced users only!) is selected and choose No Emulation as Kind of Emulation.

Ensure that 07C0 is the value under Load segment of sectors (hex!). (Which it is by default.)

Change the Number of loaded sectors value from 1 to 4.

When the options in this dialog are configured correctly, it should resemble the following:

Click the New button to close the New Compilation window. The normal Burning ROM UI will appear with a blank compilation on the left and a tree view of your PC's file system on the right.

Using the File Browser tab on the right side, navigate to C:\xp. Then, drag the entire contents of this folder over to the left side of the window. This should take only a few seconds.

Now, taking note of the name of the Windows XP with SP2 Setup CD in Burning ROM's File Browser, rename your CD compilation accordingly. For example, if the name of the disc is WXPVOL_EN, use that. Yours may be different, but I've also found that this step is largely optional; names like WINXPSP3 appear to work fine as well.

Remove your XP Setup CD and then click the Burn button in the Burning ROM toolbar. The Burn Compilation window will appear, as shown below. Check the option titled Finalize disc (No further writing possible!) and then click Burn. Burning ROM will prompt you to insert a blank disc. Any CD-R or CD-RW will do.

Step 6: Test, install it properly, add updates

Once the CD is finished, you should test it. If you have an extra PC to throw at it, that's your best bet. Otherwise, try installing it in a virtual machine with Virtual PC first: Virtual PC is free and provides an excellent environment for testing. You shouldn't wipe out your only PC until you're sure the new disc is going to work.

Do not enter your product key during Setup: I've heard from readers and have read separately online that there is a problem in some cases where Setup will not accept a valid Windows XP Product Key on an integrated XP with SP3 install. For this reason, you should choose not to enter the Product Key until after XP is installed. Obviously, I can't test every possible permutation, but I have successful activated XP integrated with SP3 on my own systems repeatedly in this fashion.

After you've installed your integrated version of Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3), you're going to want to immediately visit Windows Update, upgrade to Microsoft Update, and then install whatever critical updates are available. While that's happening, or after it's completed and you've rebooted as needed, you'll need to download a few other crucial tools. Some obvious candidates include Windows Defender (anti-spyware), AVG Free 8.0 or another anti-virus solution, Internet Explorer 7, and Windows Media Player 11 (which may show up on Windows/Microsoft Update.

When you're done testing, you should consider backing up the newly created CD, and deleting the cruft you've added to your hard drive, specifically the directories C:\xp and C:\sp3.

Semakin hari terasa bahwa tugas administrator tidaklah semudah yang orang bayangkan, semakin banyak client yg harus di awasi semakin berat tugas admin, apalagi kalo kena virus, hd crash, window tidak mau booting, bisa dibayangkan *cupu-2 (hehe.. just kiding kale) yang tereak-2 supaya computernya dibenerin, waaa stress de kalo mesti format and install satu2.
Dengan tuntutan di atas mau tidak mau hari ini research mati-2an supaya ga repot kemudian hari, seperti kata pepatah berkeok-2 dahulu, mberangkang kemudian (la.. podo ae).
Akhirnya ketemu program untuk membuat WinXP mini booting dari USBDISK!! yes, USBDISK!!
Bisa juga ditambah menu untuk mengaccess dos, nortonGhost2003, linux, bahkan Ubuntu!! Ciamik deh!!
UBCD sendiri adalah winxp mini dimana telah terdapat berbagai macam tool untuk recovery, imaging, surfing, comandline, antivirus, adware, dan buanyuaaakkkk lagi!!!!

Untuk permulaan kita mulai dari program dasarnya,
1. UBCD alias Ultimate Boot CD, bisa di unduh di Link
2. Download UBCD4WinToUSB dan instruksi di Link

Apabila dirasa UBCD sudah mencukupi maka langkahnya cukup sampai di atas, namun apabila ada yang ingin menambahkan DOS, Linux, NortonGhost versi Dos, atau bahkan OS silakan lanjutt...

3. Setelah USBDiSK telah jadi, buka F:(ini adalah usbdisk saya), edit menu.lst
4. Scrollllllll paling bawah dan masukkan text di bawah ini:

5. Download dan Extract program partedMagic4USB (dalam kasus ini saya memakai versi 2.1, PERHATIAN!! Versi USB!! pmagic-usb-2.1) di folder (create baru) F:\pmagic\ yang berisi:

Dulu pada waktu masih jaya-2nya MIRC, ogut pernah iseng-2 bikin script ^^ FUN juga sih, sampe-2 kebablasan. Btw recently script MIRC yang ogut develop bangkit dari kubur dan iseng-2 ogut *uclek-2 kembali, dari pada ogut pakai sendiri mendingan ogut share to outworld ^^ itung-2 sebagai sumbangsih pada dunia open source.
Featurenya:
1. Proteksi Pemakai dan Channel, mulai dari flood text + bot + iklan (channel, http) + socket + deop + kick + no color + bad word + bad nick + black list + total protection, etc dan semua protection bisa di set untuk channel-2 yang berbeda2 dgn setting yang berbeda2.
2. War mode, pengesetan kick mode, shutup mode, etc
3. Fun mulai dari nick color, complitation word, set logo, mp3 (sementara ini tidak berfungsi karena versi mirc.exe yg baru rada error), secret chat mode (percakapan dgn kode rahasia), etc
4. check sendiri aja ye ^^.
Script ini masih dalam development karena ogut sendiri banyak kesibukan sehari-2, kalo ada bug or feature yang mungkin user ingin tambahkan silakan jangan sungkan menghubungi saya atau berkomentar d topic bersangkutan.

Apple Getting Like Microsoft? Is it a Virus?

Dulu ketika masih mengenal window sebagai sesuatu yang free (belum mengerti arti bajakan) itu adalah sesuatu yg menyenangkan ^^. Sekarang bukan berarti window bukan hal yang menyenangkan ketika pengertian legal masuk di kepala, hanya saja sesuatu yang baru mulai merasuki pikiran yaitu "Freedom". Linux adalah sesuatu yang bener-2 menyegarkan pikiran, kenapa bisa? Bukan sesuatu yang mudah menjawabnya, tapi harus dirasa. Apple sebagai perusahaan yang besar dan memiliki banyak suporter (seperti holigan of apple) para maniak dan fans yang sejenak dulu merasakan kebebasan bercomputer ria sepertinya akan merasa kecewa berat tentang sikap Apple yang akhir-2 ini mulai melunjak.
Apple memaksa para ituner menginstall Safari browser melalui auto update itunes, memang sih waktu update bisa di un tick opsi install safari, tapi tentu saja banyak orang tidak mengetahui hal tsb karena dianggap hanya update itunes. Bukan hal yang heboh sih, tapi hal tsb menimbulkan banyak perdebatan antara Apple ingin mempopulerkan safari dengan cara yang licik ^^ atau karena kalah bersaing dengan firefox, sehingga menimbulkan problem antitrust seperti pada microsoft. Saya teringat akan instalasi itunes yang juga memaksa menginstall Quicktime, padahal saya tidak pernah memakai quiktime ^^ well....

HTC Mobile Phone Big Problem (Till Now)

Semenjak beberapa bulan yang lalu sony erricsson p910i milikku sudah mulai error, pikirku sudah tiba saatnya ganti HP ^^ Toleh-2 kaya cunguk akhirnya ketarik dgn HP HTC Touch, sambil menunggu agak lama karena biasa driver HP baru masih belum sempurna tunggu stabil pikirku, ee muncul HTC Touch Baru, processor lebih canggih and ++.
Jadi tambah ngiler, kupikir bulan ini kalo ke SBY langsung beli, hohoho... sambil bayangin tanganku goyang-2 cube 3D HTC Touch, ........ kemaren browsing-2 ketemu link ini

Langsung jadi down, ternyata menurut Web tsb HP HTC yang baru-2 masih banyak errornya, dan HTC kurang respon untuk memperbaiki bug tsb.

Comodo Firewall - Banyak hacker yang usil? usir dengan comodo firewall, free and powerfull. Must have.
Truecrypt - Punya banayk file rahasia? sembunyikan saja dengan truecrypt dengan cara membuat container yg berpassword, ada versy usbnya lagi + free + powerfull.
Dexpot - Banyak window, firefox, openoffice explorer bertebaran di desktop bikin pusing mata kalo ingin membuka window tertentu, pake aja aplikasi ini, bisa bikin virtual desktop + bisa di kasih password untuk desktop yang dirahasiakan (^^ ini yang suka buka-2 ehem-2) supaya tidak bisa dibuka sama yang lain, namun computer masih bisa dipakai oleh user yang lain di desktop yang tidak dipassword. Bisa juga untuk menampilkan semua window atau aplikasi secara bersamaan tertata secara apik di layar (^^kaya Apple or compizfussion di linux) jadi tinggal klik. Pokoknya keren deh, sumprit! Must have.
TweakNow - Seperti TweakUI namun memiliki option yang powerfull untuk mengunci taskmanager, controlpanel, etc. Must have.
Recuva - Aduh emak ada file penting tidak sengaja kedelete!! Tenang saja ada Recuva, semua bisa direcover. Must have.
CCleaner - Biasanya computer banyak file-2 yang junk, sisa-2 uninstall, dll, pakai saja ccleaner untuk urusan bersih-2, lengkap dari temp folder sampai sisa-2 update antivirus maupun firefox. Must have.
SSC Service Utility for Epson - Sering *ketip-2 printernya? minta direset kali, tapi males ke dealler Epson abisnya jauh rumahku kan di irian jaya... gimana donk? wahaha.. hari gini belum tau SSC.. ini program buat reset printer-2 epson + ada utility yang keren-2 seperti cleaning yang ink hitam saja atau warna saja, dll. Must have.
Firefox - Firefox is secure, fast, relieable web browser dengan banyak addon yang keren-2 ^^ dibandingkan dengan Internet Explorer kaya kutu dan mobil ^^. Must have.
BBox - Winamp, itunes, Jriver, dll semuanya adalah solid media player namun ada satu kekurangannya yg sangat parah yaitu memory consumssion! paling tidak 40 MB termakan untuk aplikasi-2 ini, mau pake yang memorynya sedikit namun featurenya kurang, jadi repot donk?! Ada satu aplikasi yang sanggup, BBox! Namanya kurang terkenal karena aplikasi ini termasuk baru, namun kehandalannya tidak diragukan lagi, dengan memory consumssion sebesar 14mb waktu dibuka, 2-3 mb waktu di minimize siapa yang bisa melawan? ada rip cd, album search online, filter search song, bahkan dengan visualization memorynya tetap rendah!! Must have.

The activity is part of a unique, virtual-meets-real-world game called “Treasure Quest: Enoshima - Treasure of the Dragon,” which was developed by Rush Japan, a Tokyo-based company that specializes in planning treasure hunts and tourism-related events.

The free game is open to Nintendo DS owners with the means to travel to Enoshima, a small island (4 kilometers in circumference) in the town of Fujisawa about 50 kilometers south of Tokyo. After picking up the free software, players are sent off to interact with their DS and move about the island in search of clues, which are obtained through both the physical environment and the game console. The game makes use of the DS’s wireless capabilities, and at certain key locations on the island where players obtain clues, the on-screen scenery matches that of the physical surroundings. Players can locate the treasure after obtaining all the pieces of the puzzle and putting them together to solve the mystery, which the developers claim is no easy task.

Rush Japan, who developed the game as an innovative way to stimulate tourism, hopes the Nintendo DS’s popularity with people old and young will attract a diverse group of players to the island. Their goal was to create a game that both the players and the locals would appreciate.

The treasure hunt is held from 10 AM to 4 PM every day until February 19, and reservations (required) are being accepted online through the Treasure Quest website. (The website and game are in Japanese.)

BYON Notebook is Good but...

Kira-kira 2-3 bulan yg lalu aku tertarik banget punya laptop, selain untuk kerjaan juga untuk hiburan yang portabel, sempet aku bermimpi bisa nonton film pas be'ol pasti asik ^^ (emang asik lo..asli..!). Searching sana sini hatiku kecantuoolll ama notebook merk byon boyongan oleh astrindo. Langsung aja kusamperin deallernya di THR lantai 2 kalo ga salah... tempatnya jadi satu dengan ASUS. Type laptopnya M31F G/S T7100, wes pokok e mantuap! Udah draft N lagi Wifinya, install ubuntu juga Muan..teepp.. cuman soundnya agak bermasalah tapi bisa fix oleh driver alsa yang terbaru dan modif dikit-2. Sangking senengnya istriku ta cuekin, uplek-2 laptop alias mainan baru, yang lama di tinggal dulu ehhehe maafkan daku ya say. Namun saat mencoba dvd PCmedia langsung bunyinya "kle...klek...klek..." lamaaaa... hangnya. Ku keluarin dan masukin lagi DVDnya.... hasilnya sama sampe 100x percobaan bukannya berhasil, malah bikin atiku mendedeg alias BueTee... berat. Dengan modal pikiran positif "ah.. mungking DVDnya jelek, wong dapetnya gratis ^^, coba yg lain, sekarang nonton film aja..." ............ ...... DUEERRR.... jantungku kaya kena bom, enak-2 nonton sampai 10 menit ee bunyi setan klek-2 keluar lagi, eject insert lagee... berapa lama gt lagi.... pusing. Coba lagi DVD/CD yang lain, bisa di copy namun macet sampe tengah-2 kadang bunyi setan klek kluar, kadang malah membisu alias ga kedengeran putaran DVD/CDnya. Singkat cerita kadang-2 ada cd/dvd yang bisa, ada yang 1/2 bisa, ada yang mate sama sekali.
Berapa lama kemudian aku sempat mampir ke Surabaya jadi sekalian aja kubawa BYONku tercayang ^^ untuk diperiksa, setelah sampai langsung kusodorkan ke tehnisi dan kusampaikan keluhan-2 mengenai DVD-Romku dengan harapan DVD-Rom bakal di replace karena umurnya masih 1 bulanan. Kesan pertama tehnisinya kelihatan ramah namun... hehe (sorry ya pak, ini menurut sudut pandang saya waktu memandang anda..^^) judes. Pertama-2 dia bilang kalo DVDnya mungkin tidak compatible dengan DVD-Rom (bagaimana dengan cd yang sering hang??) kemudian diambilnya beberapa cd/dvd untuk di coba copy ke Harddisk, hasilnya lancar, aku jadi bingung, aku coba lagi dan lagi.. dan akhirnya sempet stuck dan copy filenya lamaaa... dan sisa timenya dari sisa beberapa detik menjadi 60 menit lebih dan stuck seperti itu , langsung aja aku kasih lihat tehnisinya dan dia bilang "ya itu tidak bisa di jadikan patokan" haheha... takut dikira menipu aku bilang dia bahwa ada log di menu administrator tool yang menunjukan error dvd rom cukup banyak semenjak pertama kali laptopku hidup, dan sekali lagi dia bilang "itu tidak bisa dijadikan patokan.." haehehe... setengah ga mau kalah kukasih tahu juga bahwa DVD-2 and CD-2 yang kubuka kadang bisa, namun pas copy atau install game sering macet ditengah-2 sedangkan di PC atau laptop temenku kok lancar-2 aja?, dan kali ini dia bilang kata-2 yang berbeda (duh.. senengnya^^)
"Itu DVD/CDnya ga compatible ama DVD-Rom ini, memang DVD-Rom PC lebih bagus dan kuat" (Apa berarti DVD-Rom BYON tidak bagus ya?) Terus terang aku jadi ga bisa ngomong alias silent mode, bukannya kebelet kentut namun jengkel bukannya customer service tugasnya membantu supaya masalah customernya terselesaikan? Karena bertambah jengkel akhirnya kuambil keputusan untuk membeli DVD-Rom yang baru. Setelah kusampaikan niatku untuk membeli yg baru ternyata orang tersebut jadi terketuk hatinya dan diputuskan untuk diganti DVD-Romnya (model yang sama) tanpa biaya^^. Wuaahh.. seneng deh hatiku... begitu pulang langsung kucoba wiii... udah bisa!! Meski DVD/CDku banyak yang bisa namun masih ada 1 atau 2 DVD/CD yang error (kemungkinan errornya dari 70% -> 20%). Kupikir dari pada yang dulu sering banget error ya syukuran yang sekarang lah...^^.
Dari kejadian tersebut aku jadi agak syok dengan BYON, meski sayang karena harga terjangkau namun pengalaman tersebut mengingatkanku dengan pepatah "Barang murah pasti jelek" meski tidak sepenuhnya benar, ya.. mungkin pas lagi apes ^^.
PS: Sebelum membeli Laptop BYON pastikan semua hardware sudah berjalan dengan baik, bawalah live cd Ubuntu atau other distro, just incase.

Dos di XP Experimentall

Sudah lama aku cari-2 cara supaya dos foxpro aplication di perusahaanku bisa berjalan di linux, namun stil out of luck, coba-2 pake dosbox atau dosemu tetep aja error ipx.com is not loaded muncul (sementara itu aku mencoba memakai ncpfs dan mounting netware server sebagai f:\), dengan berat kaki (emang kakiku gede banget ^^) terpaksa kucomot XP Pro SP2 (asli lo!) kucoba di satu comp dulu. Setelah riang gembira aplikasi berjalan lancar (sementara itu) besok paginya ada telp dos sering hang waktu proses posting (cilaka kupikir, stock barang jadi ga karuan) langsung saja kucabut ke kantor sambil jantung dag dig dug. Kutu kupret.... ternyata errornya sering terjadi dan momentnya random alias kadang bisa kadang ga. Oprek-2 setting memory dos hasil tetep aja, install client novel yg terbaru, sama aja mewek, tapi oleh kemurahan Tuhan waktu research kutemukan artikel tentang masalah aplikasi foxpro NTVDM didual core/dual cpu/hyper-threading computer. Langsung saja matiin komputer, masuk dos, turn off hypertreading, fiolaaahh... proses tidak pernah ngadat. Asik bener deh... jadi tenang sebentar ee ada complaint kalo dosnya lambat kalo buka lebih dari 2 dos window. Terpaksa research-2 lagi.... (cape de....) dan kawan-2 di internet menyarankan memakai tamedos yg good untuk dos aplkasi di XP/NT. Dicoba-2 ternyata (sementara ini) bagus juga, kerja jadi lebih cepet (aku sementara ini lagi mencoba tamedos versi 5 karena versi 4.4.1 tidak berjalan dengan baik untuk kantorku). Coba kita lihat 1 bulan mendatang, apabila ada hasil akan kuposting lagi...

Bagi orang-2 seperti saya, yang bekerja pada sebuah perusahaan yang kecil, tentu saja dengan semakin majunya jaman kita ingin mengikuti perkembangannya, apalagi dengan segala kemudahan-2 yg kita dapatkan dalam bekerja. Tidak jauh juga untuk kebutuhan pokok perkantoran untuk memiliki aplikasi word dan math untuk arsip dan sebagainya. Awalnya kita memakai Microsoft Office (karena memang kita dulunya katrok dan taunya hanya Mikocok saja) namun oleh karena ada teman-2 di dunia ini yg masih peduli akan orang-2 seperti kita-2 ini (katrok and pelik utk keluar uang hehehe..) maka terciptalah Open Office yang super yahud. Pertama kali aku pake OoO terus terang kecewa berat, kenapa? karena bukan memudahkan pekerjaan, malah biin pusing kepala, kenapa?

1. Karena ketidak compatiblenya dengan Mikocok Office
2. Sering error-2.
3 Enak-2 kerja trus closing de....

Namun dengan seiringnya waktu penyempurnaan-2 benar-2 dikerjakan oleh teman-2 OoO, yang pada versi terbarunya 2.3.1 telah tertambat di hati temen-2 sekantorku.
Banyak dari temen-2 designku juga telah jatuh cinta berat pada OoO.
Beberapa waktu lalu aku juga baca artikel-2 dari beberapa orang (yang kupikir ini orang kalo ga kebanyakan duit pasti orang-2 yang telah ditipu oleh tradisi mikocok, atau yang memang benar-2 membutuhkan fitur yang sangat jarang digunakan orang pada umumnya yang memang tidak terdapat di OoO) yang mengatakan OoO barang gratis pasti ga manis! OoO tidak sempurna la, masih bagusan Mikocok Office la..., whatever la bro... yang penting kantor aku udah pake 2 taon lebih, kantor design juga pake no problem, kolega-2ku juga pake asik-2 aja, and mikocok tidak bisa melawan apa yang namanya open source de..^^.
Barangkali ada yang comment, "Aku pake OoO dan fiturnya tidak selengkap Office..blablabla", and i'ld say "alright, maybe its true, but not all people (probably 89% of Office's users) is using all the feature that Mic. Office have. Importanly OoO is free and its value is priceless untuk mencerdaskan bangsa! Titik! ^^ (muncrat)

Pink, white katydids

When Osaka resident Kana Yamaguchi’s neighbors cut the grass in a nearby field, a number of fleeing insects sought refuge in her flower bed. Among them was an odd pair of grasshopper-like bugs — one pink, one white. Osaka Museum of Natural History entomologist Itaru Kanazawa identifies them as the larvae of Euconocephalus thunbergi (”kubikirigisu” in Japanese), a close relative of the katydid. While he says it is normal for these insects to change between green and brown to match their surroundings, pink and white are considered abnormal. Speculation is that the pink is an extreme variation of the brown coloration, and the white specimen is believed to be an albino, though nobody will know for sure until it becomes an adult. Regardless, says Kanazawa, “It is quite rare to find three different colors at the same time.”
